busan stories
Raindrops keep falling on my head,
And just like the guy guy whose feet
Are too long for his bed,
Nothing seems to fit,
Those raindrops are falling on my head,
They keep falling,
So I did just some talking to the sun
And I said I didnt like the way,
He got the things done,
Sleeping on the job,
Those raindrops are falling on my head,
They keep falling,
But there is one thing I know,
The blues that they send to meet me wont defeat me,
it wont belong till happiness steps up to greet me,
Rain drops keep falling on my head,
But that doesnt mean my eyes,
Will soon be turning red,
Crying not fror me,
’cause i am never going to stop,
The rain by complaining
Because i am free,
Nothings worrying me
i had no idea there were so many words to this song.
i love the rain. if it didn't cause so many accidents and a couple of catastrophic floods, it's be a contender with a warm summer day. i was reminded of this yesterday on my way to work. the traffic for the tunnel was worst than usual. when i finally passed the tunnel, i saw like seven guys running back and forth across the freeway. turns out that the rain and wind knocked a bunch of these long metal strips all over the freeway and they were hurrying to gather them before all the cars ran them over. that's a pretty miserable way to start off the day. but on to more pleasant things...
one of my favorite memories from my old house in the barrios was we had this one room that was an attachment to the house so it wasn't built up to code. it three metal walls, one with windows all across it (a window with a broken screen that jay would pop her head through while we were watching tv), a wooden wall with two doors connecting to the house that lead to two different rooms and a metal ceiling. so it would get pretty noisy in there during rain. but you never had a better lazy saturday than sitting on those half-spherical seats that people always tilt over on, a korean dahm-yoo, cookies and cream ice cream and a big screen tv. the morning would be dedicated to catching up on morning cartoons... fall asleep in between teenage mutant ninja turtles and beakman's world. the volume would be on pretty loud because the rain falling on a metal ceiling can get pretty noisy. but somewhere in between, there'd be time to turn off the tv and listen to the battle between rain and metal, wind and trees, and jay and thunder. those were days we all wish for...
p.s. ever notice that rain sounds like a sizzling steak?
