busan stories (stop and go)
I'm decked out in my blue nocturnal comfy uniform:
blue socks from Target: $4.99 (3pack)
blue fleece sweats from Old Navy: $7.99
blue softball championship IM t-shirt: sweat and tears
morning hair: free
morning breath: free
the look on my face while i'm emptying my bladder and i realize i need to sneeze: priceless
What do you do?
You just woke up from a restful night of pleasant dreams while your body accumulates all the liquid waste into your bladder.
What do you do?
You make your way to the bathroom in a zombie state, barely noticing the grotesque reflection that stares at you in the mirror.
What do you do?
You lean with your arm against the wall and let the floodgates open while trying to remember what you actually dreamed about and how you can get five more minutes of sleep without missing your bus.
What do you do?
In midstream, you suddenly realize that you have to sneeze and you're body is not backing down. There is no sign of you stopping anytime soon.
WHAT DO YOU DO?
Risk the uncomfortable cringe from manual stoppage or let both pee and sneeze go?
If you stop, then you stop and that relaxing release of toxins is replaced by the urging pinch of stopping your flow.
If you sneeze, then you'd have to explain the yellow stains on the bathroom walls and on your roommate's toothbrush.
WHAT DO YOU DO?
Well, I just stopped. After 25 years of existence and enough of practice from peeing on the road and in other public places, I've learn to just do it. I actually had a very odd understanding of my liquid waste management. Stopping to pee isn't something that you're born with. It's something that takes years of practice and discipline to master. More on that later...
